J.C. Yeahquo and Partner: Team Roping Success

J.C. Yeahquo with partner in the team roping competition at the 2024 NFR, delivering notable results:

  • Round 4: Yeahquo and partner set the pace with a 4.1-second run, tying for first place with three other teams and splitting $23,635.36.
  • Round 5: The duo tied for 10th place clocking a time of 4.7 seconds.
  • Round 8: They completed the event with a total score of 41.5.

Douglas Rich: Steady and Consistent

Competing as a heeler, Douglas Rich's second NFR qualification was marked by strong performances:

  • Round 10: Rich and partner's 4.1-second run earned them $8,693 for a fifth-place finish.
  • Overall Performance: The pair's consistent efforts led to a total time of 56.8 seconds on seven heads, securing the 10th position in the average standings.
  • World Standings: Rich ended the season 14th among team roping heelers with $153,493 in earnings. His performance also highlighted his skill on a 15.1-hand heel horse, previously owned by Junior Nogueira and Jordan Allyn, which excelled with the larger NFR steers.

Andrew Ward: Team Roping Excellence

Andrew Ward, a team roping header from Edmond, Oklahoma, delivered a standout performance with partner:

  • Round 10: The duo's first-place finish with a 3.5-second run earned $33,687 each.
  • Average Standings: Their total time of 59.0 seconds on nine heads placed them fourth in the average, contributing $155,113 to their earnings.
  • World Standings: Ward's total earnings of $224,822 placed him sixth among team roping headers.

Haven Meged: A Tie-Down Roping Standout

Haven Meged, a tie-down roper from Miles City, Montana, demonstrated resilience and skill:

  • Round 5: Finished second with an 8.0-second run, earning a significant paycheck.
  • Round 6: He claimed victory with a swift 6.9-second run, adding $33,687 to his earnings.
  • Round 7: Secured second place with a 7.1-second run, earning $26,624.
  • Season Earnings: Meged concluded the NFR with $332,370, placing third in the world standings and third in the average with a total time of 93.4 seconds on ten heads.

Martha Angelone: Breakaway Roping Success

Martha Angelone delivered an impressive performance at the 2024 National Finals Breakaway Roping (NFBR):

  • Round 6: Won the round with a 1.9-second run, earning $6,196.58.
  • World Standings: Finished second with $165,505 in earnings, just behind Kelsie Domer's $168,758.
  • Season Highlights: Her 2024 season included victories at major events such as the California Rodeo Salinas and Spanish Fork, Utah.

Steer Roping Highlights

  • Cole Patterson: Secured his third consecutive PRCA Steer Roping World Championship with $93,403 in earnings for the season. He placed fourth in the average at the NFSR with a total time of 121.2 seconds on ten heads.
  • Jess Tierney: Finished 11th in the world standings with $77,290. Despite challenges at the NFSR, Tierney showcased his skill earlier in the season with a 10.8-second run at the Pioneer Days Rodeo.
  • Brodie Poppino: Concluded the season ranked 12th with $75,322. At the NFSR, he achieved an 11th-place finish in the ninth round and secured a win in the fourth round at the National Circuit Finals Steer Roping with a 9.2-second run.
