​WESTERN Pioneers Holds Off ​Wharton County Pioneers as 5-Run Deficit Is Nearly Erased

Wosc Pioneers built a five-run lead in the first inning and then held off  Wharton County Pioneer's charge for a 6-4 victory on Friday.   Wharton County Pioneers put up four runs in the failed comeback. Jordan McCladdie, Hunter Smith,  McCladdie, and Cooper Hill fueled the rally with RBIs.

Wosc Pioneers earned the victory despite allowing  Wharton County Pioneers to score three runs in the fifth inning.   Wharton County Pioneers batters contributing to the big inning included Smith, McCladdie, and Hill, who all drove in runs.

Wosc Pioneers got things moving in the first inning.  Wosc Pioneers scored one run when Tyriq Kemp doubled.

Kevin Bakker earned the win for Wosc Pioneers. The pitcher allowed eight hits and four runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.  Santiago Lopez threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Lopez recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Wosc Pioneers.

Brian Panneton took the loss for  Wharton County Pioneers. The righthander went five and a third innings, allowing six runs on ten hits, striking out seven and walking one.

Wosc Pioneers tallied two home runs on the day. Angel Cano put one out in the first inning. Angel Polanco went yard in the first inning.

Wosc Pioneers tallied ten hits in the game.  Kemp and Luis Rodriguez all collected multiple hits for Wosc Pioneers.  Rodriguez and Kemp all had two hits to lead Wosc Pioneers.

Wharton County Pioneers collected nine hits.  Hill and Smith each racked up multiple hits for  Wharton County Pioneers.  Hill led Wharton County Pioneers with three hits in four at bats.   Wharton County Pioneers didn't commit a single error in the field. Levi Castilleja had the most chances in the field with ten.
