Wosc Pioneers Claims Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Mavericks Varsity

Wosc Pioneers stole the lead late in the game in a 6-3 victory over Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Mavericks Varsity on Friday.  The game was tied at three with Wosc Pioneers batting in the bottom of the fifth when Angel Cano homered on a 0-1 count, scoring three runs.

Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Mavericks Varsity scored three runs in the fourth inning, but Wosc Pioneers still managed to pull out the victory.  Garrison Brandt, Elijah Laus, and Cash Jay all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Wosc Pioneers got things started in the first inning.  Cristopher Munoz doubled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Kevin Bakker got the win for Wosc Pioneers. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out one.

Eli Cartwright took the loss for Northern Oklahoma College Tonkawa Mavericks Varsity. The lefthander allowed eight hits and six runs over five innings, striking out five.

Wosc Pioneers hit one home run on the day. Cano went for the long ball in the fifth inning.

Munoz went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Wosc Pioneers in hits.
