Wosc Pioneers Falls to New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity After Fifth Inning Score

Saturday's game against New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity was a heartbreaker for Wosc Pioneers, as they lost the lead late in a 9-1 defeat.  The game was tied at one with New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity batting in the bottom of the fifth when Rafael Gross homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

The Wosc Pioneers struggled to contain the high-powered offense of New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity, giving up nine runs.

In the second inning, New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity got their offense started when Lorenzo Morresi's sac fly scored one run for New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity.

Wosc Pioneers evened things up at one in the top of the third inning when Juan Martinez hit a solo homer.

Landon Yorek earned the victory on the hill for New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity. The righty lasted five and a third innings, allowing six hits and one run while striking out seven.  Paul Coppinger threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Fabian Hernandez was on the pitcher's mound for Wosc Pioneers. The southpaw lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and six runs while striking out three and walking one.  Angel Miranda and Breyllin Suriel entered the game as relief, throwing one inning and two-thirds of an inning respectively.

Wosc Pioneers launched one home run on the day. Martinez had a long ball in the third inning.

Cristopher Munoz, Angel Cano, Jorge Aldrete, Dariel Osoria, Martinez, and Derek Cerda each managed one hit to lead Wosc Pioneers.  Wosc Pioneers didn't commit a single error in the field. Jefferson Duran had the most chances in the field with seven.

New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity scattered ten hits in the game.  Morresi and Gross all collected multiple hits for New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity.  Morresi went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity in hits.  New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Morresi made the most plays with  11.
