New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity Runs Away With Early Lead in Victory

Wosc Pioneers watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-2 loss to New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity on Friday.  New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity took the lead on a home run in the first inning.

The Wosc Pioneers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity, giving up eight runs.

In the first inning, New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity got their offense started.  Aaron Lugo hit a solo homer.

Jesus Tovar was credited with the victory for New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity. The lefty allowed five hits and one run over six and a third innings, striking out seven.  EJ Miramontes threw two and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Miramontes recorded the last eight outs to earn the save for New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity.

Kevin Bakker took the loss for Wosc Pioneers. The righty surrendered five runs on ten hits over five innings, striking out four and walking zero.

New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity launched two home runs on the day. Lugo went for the long ball in the first inning. Dylan Jasso put one out in the fifth inning.

Wosc Pioneers totaled nine hits in the game.  Angel Cano and Dariel Osoria all managed multiple hits for Wosc Pioneers.  Cano led Wosc Pioneers with three hits in four at bats.  Wosc Pioneers was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Jorge Aldrete had the most chances in the field with nine.

New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity collected 17 hits on the day.  Jasso, Lugo, Brent Iredale, Josh Pearl, Luis Gonzalez, and Mark Henning each racked up multiple hits for New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity.  Jasso went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity in hits.  New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Gonzalez had the most chances in the field with 13.
