Four RBI Day for Angel Cano Brings in Win For Wosc Pioneers Over El Paso

Angel Cano showed timely hitting on Friday, driving in four on two hits to lead Wosc Pioneers past El Paso 15-2 on Friday.  Cano drove in runs on a single in the first, a single in the fourth, and a walk in the eighth.

Wosc Pioneers secured the victory thanks to nine runs in the eighth inning.  Tyriq Kemp, Cristopher Munoz, Jorge Aldrete, Angel Polanco, Juan Martinez, and  Dariel Osoria each drove in runs during the inning.

Wosc Pioneers fired up the offense in the first inning, when Cano singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

El Paso evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning when #30 singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Wosc Pioneers pulled away for good with one run in the third inning.  In the third Aldrete singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Wosc Pioneers notched nine runs in the eighth inning.  The offensive onslaught came from singles by Kemp, Munoz, Polanco, Osoria, and Javi Marcial, walks by Aldrete and Cano, and  by Martinez.

Kevin Bakker was the winning pitcher for Wosc Pioneers. Bakker lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out seven and walking one.  Marshall Albertsz and Travis Belz entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

#24 took the loss for El Paso. The pitcher went three and a third innings, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out two.

#13 started the game for El Paso. The bulldog lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing six hits and six runs while striking out four

Wosc Pioneers tallied 12 hits on the day.  Osoria, Marcial, Cano, and Munoz all collected multiple hits for Wosc Pioneers.  Osoria led Wosc Pioneers with three hits in four at bats.

#1 went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead El Paso in hits.  El Paso was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. #18 had the most chances in the field with six.
