Bats Blistered as Wosc Pioneers Defeats Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity, 11-6

Bats were blistered as Wosc Pioneers defeated Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity 11-6 on Sunday.

Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity fired up the offense in the second inning.  Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity scored one run when Evan Aslaskan singled.

Wosc Pioneers pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.  In the third Tyriq Kemp tripled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs and Angel Cano drew a walk, scoring one run.

Wosc Pioneers put up five runs in the seventh inning.  Wosc Pioneers's offense in the inning came from triples by Cristopher Munoz and Javi Marcial and a single by Dariel Osoria.

Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity scored three runs in the seventh inning.  Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity batters contributing to the big inning included Hector Rodriguez and Parker Airhart, who all drove in runs.

Fabian Hernandez was credited with the victory for Wosc Pioneers. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking one.  Leon Suriel threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Suriel recorded the last ten outs to earn the save for Wosc Pioneers.

Dravin Barber took the loss for Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity. The righty surrendered three runs on two hits over four innings, striking out two and walking one.

Wosc Pioneers racked up 11 hits in the game.  Jorge Aldrete and Cano each collected multiple hits for Wosc Pioneers.  Aldrete went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Wosc Pioneers in hits.

Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity racked up ten hits.  Airhart, Alfonso Villalobos, Vincent Sanchez, and Aslaskan all collected multiple hits for Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity.  Airhart led Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity with three hits in four at bats.  Galveston College Whitecaps Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Aslaskan had the most chances in the field with nine.
