Late Score Costs Wosc Pioneers Against Redlands

Wosc Pioneers stayed in it until the end, but Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023 pulled away late in a 9-8 victory on Saturday.  Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023 was down 8-6 in the top of the ninth inning when McCracken homered on a 0-2 count, scoring three runs.

Derek Cerda drove in four runners in the loss.  Cerda drove in runs on a home run in the first, a home run in the seventh, and a groundout in the eighth.

Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023 got on the board in the first inning when Tyler Fortin doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Wosc Pioneers tied things up at six when Cerda homered on a 3-1 count, scoring two runs.

After Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023 scored one run in the top of the sixth, Wosc Pioneers answered with one of their own.  Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023 scored when Fryer doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.  Wosc Pioneers then answered when Lovell induced Javi Marcial to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored.

The pitcher allowed nine hits and six runs over six and a third innings, striking out five and walking one.  AJ and Eastwood entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.  Eastwood recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023.

Breyllin Suriel took the loss for Wosc Pioneers. Suriel allowed one hit and three runs over three innings, striking out five and walking zero.

Angel Miranda started the game for Wosc Pioneers. The pitcher surrendered five runs on nine hits over four innings, striking out four and walking one

Wosc Pioneers hit two home run on the day. Cerda put one out in the first and seventh innings.

Wosc Pioneers totaled 12 hits.  Tyriq Kemp, Cerda, Marcial, and Dariel Osoria each managed multiple hits for Wosc Pioneers.  Kemp led Wosc Pioneers with three hits in four at bats.

Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023 tallied 13 hits on the day.  Denton, Fryer, Fortin, and McCracken all managed multiple hits for Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023.  Denton went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Redlands CC Cougars Spring 2023 in hits.
