Wosc Pioneers Defeats Rose State Raiders Despite Allowing 4-Run Inning

Wosc Pioneers managed through a push by Rose State Raiders in the second inning where Wosc Pioneers coughed up four runs, but Wosc Pioneers still won 8-7 on Tuesday.  Rose State Raiders batters contributing to the big inning included Krew Taylor, Payton Taylor, and Glynn Wilson, all driving in runs in the frame.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Wosc Pioneers collected 11 hits and Rose State Raiders had eight.

Rose State Raiders fired up the offense in the second inning, when Taylor doubled on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs.

Wosc Pioneers pulled away for good with four runs in the fifth inning.  In the fifth Angel Polanco doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs and Trace McDaniels threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Wosc Pioneers.

Leon Suriel earned the victory on the mound for Wosc Pioneers. The righthander allowed one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking zero.  Marshall Albertsz recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Wosc Pioneers.

Andrew Sheppard was on the mound for Rose State Raiders. The pitcher went two and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, striking out one and walking one.  Kasen Rogers, Dilon Palmer, and McDaniels each contributed in relief for Rose State Raiders.

Nikosi Didder started the game for Wosc Pioneers. Didder went one inning, allowing four runs on two hits

Wosc Pioneers tallied two home runs on the day. Mateo Hernandez had a long ball in the second inning. Jorge Aldrete put one out in the eighth inning.

Wosc Pioneers totaled 11 hits.  Polanco, Aldrete, Angel Cano, and Cristopher Munoz each had multiple hits for Wosc Pioneers.  Munoz, Cano, Aldrete, and Polanco each collected two hits to lead Wosc Pioneers.

Rose State Raiders saw the ball well today, racking up eight hits in the game.  Taylor and Taylor all collected multiple hits for Rose State Raiders.  Rose State Raiders didn't commit a single error in the field. Lake Strickland had the most chances in the field with eight.
