
Western Oklahoma State College Rodeo Team Shines at SWOSU Rodeo
The Western Oklahoma State College rodeo team delivered a strong performance at the Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU) Rodeo, showcasing talent, grit, and determination across multiple events.
Riley O'Rourke led the way with standout performances in both calf roping and steer roping. In calf roping, O'Rourke placed 4th in the short round and secured 4th place overall in the average. His dominance continued in steer roping, where he took 1st in both rounds and finished 2nd in the average, making him one of the top all-around athletes of the weekend.
In team roping, several Western athletes made the leaderboard. Caleb Miller and Cale Morris roped their way into the top five. Miller placed 3rd in the short round and 3rd in the average, while Morris finished 5th in both the short round and the average. Miller also earned 5th in the long round, further demonstrating his consistent skill in the arena.
The duo of Brandt and Nick Lovins came out strong with a 1st place finish in the long round. They wrapped up the weekend 6th in both the short round and the average.
On the women's side, Rayna Billingsley added to the team's success with a 6th place finish in the long round, contributing valuable points and momentum.
With solid finishes across multiple events, the Western Oklahoma State College rodeo team continues to prove they are a force to be reckoned with in the region. As the season rolls on, their sights remain set on continued growth and a strong push toward the finals.
