WOSC Rodeo Athletes Dominate at Fort Hays College Rodeo

Hays, KS — The Western Oklahoma State College (WOSC) rodeo team made a powerful statement at the Fort Hays State University College Rodeo this past weekend, turning in standout performances across the board and clinching the Men's Team Championship in the process.

In the Team Roping event, WOSC athletes came ready to compete—and they didn't disappoint. Brandt O'Connor and Nicholas Lov led the charge, roping their way to a 1st place finish, while Jate Salts and Ralph Estrada took 3rdRowdy Jones and Dace Morris secured 5thJoel Jones and Tripp Hightower claimed 6th, and Jordan Lov rounded out the top 12 with a solid 12th place performance.

The success didn't stop there. In Tie-Down RopingJate Salts kept the momentum going, notching a 6th place spot in the long round with a 10.6-second run, earning him a return trip to the short round.

The Men's All-Around team effort paid off, with multiple WOSC cowboys making waves in the arena. Professional Bull Rider Jesse Hopper put on a show, taking 1st in both the short round and averageRowdy Jones and Dace Morris doubled down with a 2nd place finish in both the round and average, while Jordan Lov impressed with a 4th place finish in both categories. Brandt O'Connor and Nicholas Lov capped off the team's impressive showing with 6th place in the average.

"We're incredibly proud of this crew," said WOSC Rodeo Coach. "They showed up ready to compete and made some serious noise. Their hard work and grit were on full display this weekend."
