Jared Black begins his 4th year at Western Oklahoma State College and his 24th year of coaching. Black was previously the Director of Compliance/Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Southwestern Christian University. While at SCU, Coach Black gained significant college experience as he had a role in recruiting, fundraising, practices, games, and travel for the Lady Eagles. During his time at SCU, the Lady Eagles appeared at the NCCAA National Tournament for 3 years, with COVID forcing the tournament to be canceled in 2020. During the 2016-17 season, Black was Assistant Women's Basketball Coach at Saint Gregory's University. Black also had one season at NCAA D II Southern Nazarene University. Coach Black was a junior high and high school coach/teacher with stops at Guthrie, Chisholm, Bethany, and Strother before moving into the college ranks. Coach Black is currently involved with Team Oklahoma serving at the Lawton location in the girls program. "I feel that I am still learning and I have enjoyed every level where I have been given the opportunity to work with players, along the way, people believed enough in me to give me those opportunities. I am so grateful to all the players who have allowed me to coach them through the years."

In forecasting the 24-25 season, Coach Black feels that the team is poised to build into a contender for the conference tournament. "My goal is for our team to appear at the conference tournament this year, I think that is the next step for our program. We are young with only two returners but I believe this is our most talented freshman class in my time at WOSC."

Coach Black grew up in Hydro, Oklahoma, and attended Southern Nazarene University to earn his BS in Social Studies Education. In 2015, he earned his MBA, also at SNU. Coach Black resides in Altus with his wife and two daughters.
